Milena Rasic has signed a new contract with VakıfBank. The Serbian middle-blocker was in the dream team of the CEV Champions League 2017 and also won silver medal in 2016 Rio Olympic Games with Serbian National Team.

Milena Rasic has signed a new contract with VakıfBank. The Serbian middle-blocker was in the dream team of the CEV Champions League 2017 and also won silver medal in 2016 Rio Olympic Games with Serbian National Team.

Milena Rasic was born in Serbia, Pancevo on the 25th of October 1990 and first started volleyball when she was just 12 years old playing for Sumadija AV Belgrad. She signed her first professional contract with Dinamo Pancevo in 2007 and wore the team shirt for 3 years. The successful middle blocker later joined RC Cannes in 2010 and experienced her peak success during her time there. Milena became an essential player for a further 4 seasons while at RC Cannes and experienced 4 consecutive league and cup championships and together with her team she gained a bronze medal in 2010 and silver medal in 2012 during the European Champions league. The successful player later joined VakıfBank for the 2014-2015 season. The successful middle blocker is 193 cm tall with a 312 cm spike and 293 cm block height.

Milena Rasic has many accomplishments together with her National team with 1 European Champions championship, 1 European Championship Bronze Medal, 1 World Cup Silver Medal, 3 European League and 2 World Grand Prix 2nd place. Milena was also performed in 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympic Games with her National team and won Silver Medal in 2016. Milena also achieved , 1 CEV Champions League title, 1 Turkish League and 1 Turkish Super Cup title and 1 World Championship with VakıfBank.

    VakifBank opens CL season with home game

    VakifBank Women's Volleyball Team, which is the winner of four CEV Champions League titles with two consecutive titles, is opening Champions League season at home. The first match in the group will be played against Stuttgart at 19:00 at the VakıfBank Spor Sarayı. The Yellow-Blacks will face Allianz MTV Stuttgart, Maritza Plovdiv and Beziers in Group A. 

    VakifBank head coach Giovanni Guidetti, who stated that they are in very good condition as a team said, “Our team is in a good condition. I like the way we played the last two matches. We are improving and we are trying some new things that we want to put slowly in every match. We are very excited to start Champions League this year and we are looking forward to play against Stuttgart. They did an amazing thing for qualifying for this group. After losing in Romania they won 4 sets in a row including the golden set against Alba Blaj. That means they are a strong team with a great character and great fighting spirit. I like every German team that plays with great discipline and good organization of block and defense. So I am looking forward to not an easy match and I am excited to start Champions League.”

    VakifBank Captain Melis Gurkaynak stated that It is a great honor for us to start this season as the champion of the Champions League twice in a row. Stuttgart passed a really hard qualification round, defeating its opponent on the golden set. We are aware that we will play with a very strong and competitive team. I hope we can make a good start with this game”

    VakifBank wins the derby clash

    The last champion of Turkish League, VakifBank Women Volleyball Team has defeated Galatasaray with a 3-0 victory in there home 'VakifBank Spor Sarayı' with the set scores as 25-23, 25-18 and 25-18 in the fourth week of the league.

    The top scorers of the VakifBank were Lonneke Slöetjes (15), Zhu Ting (12) and Kelsey Robinson (9).

    The Yellow-Blacks will face Aydin Büyükşehir Belediye on 17'th November Saturday at 15:00 in Aydin Mimar Sinan Sports Hall.
