VakıfBank ISTANBUL, leading the 2017 CEV Champions League Women Group D, is ready to play against DRESDER SC on 25th of January at VakıfBank Spor Sarayı, Istanbul. After first two games of the group, VakıfBank has collected 5 points and holds the top position.
Turkish League’s undefeated leader VakıfBank ISTANBUL, has won 62 games in last 70 CEV Champions League games since 2010. This season, they are ahead of the closest follower, Eczacıbaşı VitrA ISTANBUL, with one point.
The yellow-black team has defeated Uralochka NTMK EKATERINBURG at the opening game of the group with a result 3-1. At the second game they meet with their arch-rival, Eczacıbaşı VitrA ISTANBUL, and won two points with the result, 3-2.
The head coach of VakıfBank ISTANBUL, Giovanni Guidetti said “Like every game in the CEV Champions League, the upcoming game is very important to us. In our group winning a single set is valuable. So we have to be prepared for all our matches as like a final. Against DRESDNER SC we have to give our best for 3 points. We have a little advantage in this group and want to maintain this”.
The youngster setter of VakıfBank ISTANBUL, Cansu Özbay added “The group leadership is very important to be able to walk to our Final Four goal. We also have to win against DRESDNER SC to maintain the advantage we have achieved by winning our first two games. We feel ready for this as always. I hope we will have three points at the end of the match”.
