4 times CEV Champions League champion VakıfBank, defeated ASPTT Mulhouse 3-0 in the third game of the season. Isabelle Haak was VakıfBank’s top scorer with 22 points and was also named as the most valuable player of the match. Gabi scored 16, Zehra Güneş and Michelle Bartsch-Hackley 10 points.
Freshly crowned World Champions VakıfBank, Turkey's top trophy-winning team in the international area, got the third victory in the CEV Champions League against ASPTT Mulhouse. The yellow-blacks defeated the French side 3-0.
VakıfBank won the first set and second 25-19 and brought the game to 2-0. The yellow-blacks took the last set 25-17 and won the match 3-0. Ambassador of Turkey in Paris Ali Onaner and General Consul of Turkey in Strasbourg Rami Şaylıman were followed the game.
Giovanni Guidetti: “My players showed how professional they are”
Speaking after the match, VakıfBank Head Coach Giovanni Guidetti said: “It was not an easy match. We were in Ankara only 2 days ago, but my players showed how great they are, how professional they are. Everyone thought that VakıfBank would not play a good game after the Club World Championship final and would underestimate this match, but we showed that VakıfBank is not such a team."
VakıfBank will host Finnish side LP Salo in the next match in the CEV Champions League on Thursday, January 20, at 19.00.
