VakıfBank continues on its path without defeat in Europe with 5 out of 5

VakıfBank defeated the Slovenian team Calcit Kamnik in its 5th match in Group C of the CEV Champions League. Defeating their opponent with a clear score of 3-0, the yellow-blacks  made it five out of five in Europe. Kiera Van Ryk was selected as the MVP for VakıfBank with 17 points, while Caterina Bosetti contributed to double-digit scoring with 10 points. 

 

Having already won all of its first four matches in Group C of the CEV Champions League, VakıfBank, defeated the Slovenian team Calcit Kamnik 3-0 in its 5th challenge and continued on its path without loss. Kiera Van Ryk was selected as the MVP with 17 points, while Caterina Bosetti contributed to double-digit scoring with 10 points.

The match started in balance, but VakıfBank took the lead 8-7 and continued its lead until the end of the 26-minute set, which it won 25-22. In this set the yellow-blacks produced 4 blocks, while Kiera Van Ryk stood out with 9 points.

VakıfBank displayed a comfortable game with consecutive series in the 2nd set, where 7 of its players contributed directly to the score. In addition to Caterina Bosetti's 5-point performance, Bahar Akbay also produced 4 points, 2 of which were aces. Winning the set 25-18, VakıfBank brought the score to 2-0.

Recovering from 6-1 in the 3rd set, VakıfBank caught its opponent at 10-10. In this highly contested set, VakıfBank took the advantage with a 4-0 series after the 17-17 tie, winning the set 25-23 and the match 3-0. 

 

Kiera Van Ryk reaches 73 points in Europe

Kiera Van Ryk, who was the most scoring player on the court against Calcit Kamnik with 17 points, was chosen as the MVP of the match. Van Ryk, VakıfBank’s highest scorer in Europe, increased her total points in the CEV Champions League this season to 73. 

 

VakıfBank beat Calcit Kamnik in the 4th meeting

VakıfBank, who returned from the away match in Slovenia with a victory, won the 4th official match it played with Calcit Kamnik. The yellow-blacks, who defeated their opponent 3-1 in Istanbul in the opening match of the group, defeated the Slovenian team 3-0 in both matches in the group stage of the 2015-2016 season. 

 

Kendall Kipp returns to the courts

Kendall Kipp, who recovered from her injury at VakıfBank, returned to the court with the Calcit Kamnik match. Kipp scored 2 points against the Slovenian team.

VakıfBank will face Kuzeyboru in the Vodafone Sultans League on Sunday, January 12 at 13:00 at the Aksaray Sports Hall in its next match.
