VakıfBank faced Eczacıbaşı Dynavit away in the 26th week of the Vodafone Sultans League.
Winning the match in the last week of the regular season with a clear score of 3-0, the
yellow-blacks completed the league stage with 22 wins and paired with Eczacıbaşı Dynavit
in the play-off semi-final series. Marina Markova (20) and Kiera Van Ryk (12) reached
double-digit scores in VakıfBank, while 9 players contributed directly to the score.
VakıfBank defeated Eczacıbaşı Dynavit away in the 26th and last week of the regular season
of the Vodafone Sultans League. The yellow-blacks, who won the match with a score of 3-0,
completed the regular season with 22 wins. VakıfBank was paired with Eczacıbaşı Dynavit in
the play-off semi-final. 9 players contributed directly to the score in the yellow-black team,
while Marina Markova and Kiera Van Ryk reached double-digit points respectively with 20
and 12 points.
VakıfBank was the more efficient side in the last part of the first set that started in a
balanced manner; it finished the set 25-20 with a 4-0 series after 21-20 and took the lead in
the match. In the set where the yellow-black team played with 4 blocks, Marina Markova
scored 6 points, Zehra Güneş and Kiera Van Ryk scored 5 points each.
VakıfBank started the second set with a 5-0 series after strong serves and maintained its
score advantage until the end of the set. The yellow-black team, who also recorded this set
with 11 points and 4 blocks by Marina Markova, made it 2-0 with a score of 25-20. In the
competitive third set, VakıfBank, which reached a score of 20-16 with a 5-1 series, after
making it 15-15, never looked back and won the set 25-21, winning the match 3-0.

Commenting on the match, VakıfBank Head Coach Giovanni Guidetti said: “I believe we
played a stable match. Our block was good, and the players were very focused on fixing what
didn’t work in the previous match. Now, the players deserve a small rest and holiday. After
that, we have to look forward because we haven’t won anything yet. Everything we need to
win is in front of us, and we must focus on what we can improve to achieve better results at
the end of the season.”

VakıfBank libero Aylin Sarıoğlu Acar made the following statement: “We are very happy to
have closed the regular season in the league with a good victory against a strong opponent like Eczacıbaşı. Now we have the Cup Volleyball and Sultans League play-off matches ahead
of us. I hope we get good results there as well and win the championships.
VakıfBank will face Eczacıbaşı Dynavit again in İzmir in the AXA Sigorta Cup Volleyball semi-
finals on Saturday, April 4th in its next match.
