Born on July 7, 1999 in Istanbul Kartal, Zehra Güneş started playing volleyball at VakıfBank at the age of 12. Two years in a row, she won both the Stars and Youth Championships in Turkey. At the age of 15, she played for one season in Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor, one of the 2nd League teams, on loan. In the same season, she won the Turkish Championship in both youth teams. In the 2015-2016 season, she played in VakıfBank's second team, which promoted from the 3rd League to the 2nd League as the champion. She played in Beşiktaş in the 2016-2017 season on loan. At the end of the season, she became the Turkish Champion again with the VakıfBank Youth Team. Zehra Güneş, who has been playing in VakıfBank A Team since the 2017-2018 season, won 3 FIVB Clubs World Championships, 3 CEV Champions League, 3 Turkish League, 3 Turkish Cup and 2 Turkish Super Cup with the yellow-blacks.
She took part in World Championship (4th) with U17 team, Balkans and EYOF Championship, European Championship (3th) with Young National Team, World Championship (4th), World Championship (1th) with U23 Team. Zehra won a bronze medal in the 2018 FIVB League of Nations and 2019 Women's European Championship with the national team jersey. The middle blocker, took place in the Turkish National Team which is in the first place in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Qualifiers and played in the Olympics. While the Turkish National Team won the gold medal in the 2023 FIVB Nations League and CEV European Championship this year Zehra Güneş won the best middle blocker award in both tournament.
